A Brief History of Yullin Church

Yullin Church was planted in a basement in Bangbae, Seoul, on the 12th of December 1993. Seven people including Pastor Nam-Joon Kim attended the first worship service. Despite hardships and difficulties in the beginning, the congregation grew up to three hundred people in three years. In December, 1998, Yullin Church moved to its own building in Bangbae-dong. Finally in April 2002, God blessed us with a larger sanctuary and a building for education in Pyeongchon, where we worship, praise, and study God together. Now Yulin Church has approximately 2000 members.

What¡¯s in the Name of Our Church? (What does the Church name mean?)

The word "Yullin" means "OPEN," which comes from Revelation 3:7-8. It says, ¡°These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no-one can shut and what he shuts no-one can open. I know your deeds. See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.¡± These verses declare that Jesus Christ only has a power and authority to open the door of Heaven for His people. Using this word, ¡°Yullin¡±, as the Church name, Yullin Church marks strong desires for the day of spiritual revivals, the revivals when God opens the blessed door of Heaven and fills our heart with the fullness of His love, thereby overwhelming the world with love, respect, and worship for Him forever and more. (OR thereby letting us to pour forth on the world love, respect, and worhip for Him)

To which denomination does Yullin Church belong?

The General Assembly Presbyterian Church (GAPC), Korea.
